Balloon Bash

How fun is this?! When Whitney with Beaded By W asked if I would like to team up with some fellow Austin bloggers for a fun evening with The Balloon Bar how could I resist?!

Serious back story: After Austin Fashion Week they were giving these balloons to whoever would take them home. My good friend Hilary and I shoved one in the back of my 2 door car making it work and praying it didn’t pop. I was determined to make some cute tassels for my niece’s birthday (which did not turn out-AT ALL! LOL). So, Kyle and I used the balloon for a garage sale a couple months back thinking it would help people know where our garage sale was. All is good until we leave for lunch and see a couple of teenage girls looking at it, and sure enough they drive off with the balloon!!! In my head I’m thinking “OMG!!! Who does that?!” Kyle and I make a U-turn determined to get the balloon back! After catching up to them I asked, “Did you really just take my balloon?!” I was shocked!!! Of course they thought it was just a balloon, but it wasn’t just a balloon, it was the balloon I got from fashion week and it had tassels y’all!!

Ok, so looking back, maybe I was a little dramatic at the time, but it makes for a good story and something we’ll always laugh about. I couldn’t wait to tell Ana, the creative mind behind The Balloon Bar who added a ton of sparkle to this shoot with fun balloons and tassels that she hand-makes herself. OB.sessed!

Tassels on Tassels scream success. And Beaded By W did just that when she put the finishing touches on our outfits, styling us all in different tassel necklaces and bracelets. I’m wearing The Seagrove necklace and The Lubbock bracelet. Love that you can have so many different looks with these necklaces and layering them is my new fave!

If you couldn’t tell from the proof above, this was hands-down the most fun collab I’ve ever done. Ashley, Ana, and Dani are a few of my stylish blogger friends who made this shoot so much fun and something I’ll never forget.

I have to give a HUGE Thank You to the lady with the eye, Caitlin Collins. Not only does she have an eye for what she does, she is probably one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and made me so comfortable working in front of the camera with her. Check out her colorful and amazing work here at Augustaleigh.com.

Have a great weekend!! Loves XO

This color has been taking up my wardrobe lately. Love that it’s the perfect in between of just enough pink and it’s easy to take it from winter to spring. With my always trusty shoes on repeat…wishing I would have bought two pairs, after how much I wear them, ha! Have to order these as back-ups :). xo

Love shorts and heels combo. Whether it be wedges or sandals, love the dressiness of a heel with the casual vibe of shorts. Maybe it’s because I’m so excited to finally wear shorts again, but nevertheless, I’m a total fan. These boyfriend shorts happen to be my new favorite short trend and will definitely be adding more into my wardrobe this summer.

This black sandal you’ll start to see more and more of with temps warming up. They’re my #1 go-to’s and seriously you guys, invest in a pair and you’ll be so happy you did. They’re like the equivalent to a black flat but in a heel form. Meaning, you can wear them with just about anything and they’re an easy grab in your closet. Zara finally has my absolute (I wish I could underline that like 5 times) favorite pair back in stock. The saying “Life’s too short buy the shoes” is totally necessary here, because a good 2 or 3 years ago I stared at these shoes everyday online and never bought them thinking they would go on sale, and then poof! They just disappeared. I almost fainted when I saw them back on their site last month. xo

3 ways to dress up distressed

Happy Friday beauties! Today I’m dressing up distressed. It’s fun, edgy, and an easy way to take your look from day to night. Here are a few pointers to achieve this casual-chicness with a few basics you already have in your wardrobe…

1.) Mix in dressy pieces to balance out the casual ones. A blazer is an automatic go-to when I want to dress something up. Even if you’re just wearing jeans, a tee and converse, throw on a blazer on and you’ve instantly transformed your look.

2.) Add height. Boyfriend jeans are already a little lose and not as slim as your typical skinny jean. Adding height will give the illusion of a longer silhouette while adding femininity back into the mix.

3.) Cuff ’em. You can do this to any denim but I love doing it with boyfriend jeans for an added touch. Here I cuffed them twice, but I also love cuffing them once and then folding the top hem downwards.

Hope you guys enjoyed these tips! Be sure to follow me on Pintrest for more tips and fashion inspo!
