Definitely stuck in weekend mode yesterday. After a Sunday brunch with one of my besties, and tackling an ambitious dinner later that night, I decided to take a breather. Hope you all had an awesome weekend, seems as though they’re never long enough!

Ok, you guys…so I have a confession to make. I have seriously been living in these jeans for the past 2 weeks and funny thing is, they’ve been in my closet for the past year! I seem to go through phases of finding a favorite pair of denim in my wardrobe and re-working it into my outfits so don’t be mad when you start to see a trend ;). With my constant coldness, and this some-what cooler Texas heat, I’m wrapping my favorite denim jacket to accentuate my waist and become an instant accessory. I can dig it!

3 ways to dress up distressed

Happy Friday beauties! Today I’m dressing up distressed. It’s fun, edgy, and an easy way to take your look from day to night. Here are a few pointers to achieve this casual-chicness with a few basics you already have in your wardrobe…

1.) Mix in dressy pieces to balance out the casual ones. A blazer is an automatic go-to when I want to dress something up. Even if you’re just wearing jeans, a tee and converse, throw on a blazer on and you’ve instantly transformed your look.

2.) Add height. Boyfriend jeans are already a little lose and not as slim as your typical skinny jean. Adding height will give the illusion of a longer silhouette while adding femininity back into the mix.

3.) Cuff ’em. You can do this to any denim but I love doing it with boyfriend jeans for an added touch. Here I cuffed them twice, but I also love cuffing them once and then folding the top hem downwards.

It’s a love thing…

It's a love thing

Me and this distressed denim. Was on a hunt for a black pair of distressed and just so happen to run across this pair at the outlets. Mission accomplished. Wish it was always that simple! Basics are my go-to when I’m in a “I have nothing to wear” mood, which is like, everyday. OH! almost forgot…while I was at the outlets (not supposed to be shopping for myself!!!) I accidentally walked into Aldo, and this leopard bag swooned me. Obvi, I needed it my life and for $20 how could I resist?! Coolest feeling ever, it rang up for $11 DOLLARS YALL. Whyyyy I didn’t get the burgundy one is beyond me, but lets not ruin a happy moment here. I mean, my mom thought it was Rebecca Minkoff, girl stop.

Polyester love

Polyester Love

Looking through my wardrobe the majority of blouses are polyester, 100% polyester. Sounds old school, but I can’t get enough of it. Sure, I love a nice angora sweater every once in a while, but if it’s not a cotton tee, its a polyester button down. Let’s be real here, they’re easy to throw on with just about anything and little maintenance. I scooped up this Ro & De number at Nordstrom Rack for $19 originally $78, seriously my new favorite store right now! I mentioned in this post my recent purchase of black denim from Target and, well, here they are! Love the rigged detail on the knee and of course, zippers are everywhere this season, paired with my always reliable black sandal to polish off the look.
