I’m not going to lie you guys, fringe might be my favorite trend of the year. I sometimes wonder if I’ll look back in 10 years and think ‘why did I wear that‘, but I feel like you can pull off fringe in a chic and edgy way. I snagged this suede skirt and a couple of thoughts crossed my mind-the first being ‘OMG this is so cute”…I knew I would be able to wear this into fall and knew simplicity was going to be key for this statement (a.k.a loud/fun/daring) piece. Keeping my look cohesive I paired with neutrals but would love to style it with a black bodysuit for a night out.
It’s obvious I’m in denial over here about new seasons (seriously, summer just started), but I can’t bring you guys down with me!!! So, it only makes sense to do what I do best, and thats shop for sales! You got it…I’m all about shopping sales and especially at the end of season. You might be thinking “how does that make any sense?” but honestly, you’ll be so happy you didn’t splurge on that pair of sandals come this time of the year.
Since shoes are my weakness I’ve narrowed down some of my absolute favorites on sale that you can still squeeze into for the next couple of weeks, of course, unless you’re in Texas then make that the next couple of months. If anything, put them aside until spring and it’ll be like shopping in your own closet.
Channeling my inner minimalist today. Can’t argue with a black and white combo so I ran with it! Also couldn’t argue the price tag on my newest mules. Funny how both pairs I own came from Target on super sale! Anyone else enjoying summer sales?! I’m holding on tight to my favorite season and taking advantage of every end of season sale I can. XO
How fun is this?! When Whitney with Beaded By Wasked if I would like to team up with some fellow Austin bloggers for a fun evening withThe Balloon Barhow could I resist?!
Serious back story: After Austin Fashion Week they were giving these balloons to whoever would take them home. My good friend Hilary and I shoved one in the back of my 2 door car making it work and praying it didn’t pop. I was determined to make some cute tassels for my niece’s birthday (which did not turn out-AT ALL! LOL). So, Kyle and I used the balloon for a garage sale a couple months back thinking it would help people know where our garage sale was. All is good until we leave for lunch and see a couple of teenage girls looking at it, and sure enough they drive off with the balloon!!! In my head I’m thinking “OMG!!! Who does that?!” Kyle and I make a U-turn determined to get the balloon back! After catching up to them I asked, “Did you really just take my balloon?!” I was shocked!!! Of course they thought it was just a balloon, but it wasn’t just a balloon, it was the balloon I got from fashion week and it had tassels y’all!!
Ok, so looking back, maybe I was a little dramatic at the time, but it makes for a good story and something we’ll always laugh about. I couldn’t wait to tell Ana, the creative mind behind The Balloon Bar who added a ton of sparkle to this shoot with fun balloons and tassels that she hand-makes herself. OB.sessed!
Tassels on Tassels scream success. And Beaded By W did just that when she put the finishing touches on our outfits, styling us all in different tassel necklaces and bracelets. I’m wearing The Seagrove necklace and The Lubbock bracelet. Love that you can have so many different looks with these necklaces and layering them is my new fave!
If you couldn’t tell from the proof above, this was hands-down the most fun collab I’ve ever done. Ashley, Ana, and Dani are a few of my stylish blogger friends who made this shoot so much fun and something I’ll never forget.
I have to give a HUGE Thank You to the lady with the eye, Caitlin Collins. Not only does she have an eye for what she does, she is probably one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and made me so comfortable working in front of the camera with her. Check out her colorful and amazing work here at Augustaleigh.com.
